A construction site for a $2 billion gas-fired ram-powered power plant in northwest Oklahoma has collapsed.
Kokomo Police said Thursday the collapse was discovered Wednesday when workers were cleaning out a dumpster and a garbage can.
The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
The company that owns the plant is working to determine how much of the facility will be used for power and what role the waste-storage facility will play.
Officials said the site is located in the Tulsa area and will be partially covered in concrete.
Construction is expected to continue through the end of the year.
